Here are my numbers on performance.

                      RPM           mph                        mpg
No Bail............ 1000......... 5.23........ 1.2........... 4.35
......................2000......... 8.51........ 3.8........... 2.23
......................3000........ 14.49....... 8.75......... 1.65
......................3500 RPM...25.66mph..................2.50 mpg
......................4000 ........31.7 ........13.8.......... 2.29
......................5000........ 38.49....... 21.9......... 1.75
..................5500  WOT........ 43.84....... 34 ............1.28
Props.......18 x 14 1/4 Yamaha Stainless

I'm thinking of a 4 blade to accomplish two things:

1. a better hole shot and bite (top end not that important on our NW waters);
2. little better top RPM to make sure this engine is not bogging down.

I'm often running with lots of ice and gear for tuna fishing.

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

4 blades will accomplish what your looking for.

The lowest pitch Revolution 4 is 17 pitch. I think you would still be a little low on rpm with those. Although they have excellent bite and are great all around props.

Powertech makes some 4 blades that are a little smaller. 14 1/4 diameter. They still have good bite and give sternlift, but they are easier to turn.
Its called the SFS, they cost $379 each, I'd go with 16 pitch to make sure you get your rpm higher.

If you get them and decide you want to swap for a different set, its $35 each, and we'll try something else.

I was probably waist deep tearing my boat apart when you called.
I will try to call you back tomorrow.

Can you let me know if those props were dropped shipped yet?  I need to schedule a test when they come in.

If you can get a tracking number and send me a PM it would help.

So here are the results of the props, Power tech 14 x 17's.  They felt as if I was on plane faster, with more control at a lower speed.  This was done on the Columbia River with a brisk wind, and I had to keep the bow trimmed down, so it was hardly a trimmed up speed run as was the first set last year.

Any thoughts?

The numbers will probably improve a good bit when you get to trim a little more.

I'm sure you'll be pretty close to 6000 with trim.

be curious to see how they run in the rough water, if they keep you on plane at a slower speed.

Hello, I have had a chance to run the props in the ocean in some snotty weather and they are great. I don't know about top end because I never get there on the ocean, but crossing bars the props have performed very well.

One question I had was that they are starting to show signs of rusting in spots. My older stainless props never had this problem. Do you have some advice on how to keep them shiny?

You can polish them with whatever you polish your boat with and it will help keep them a little more shiny and just hose them off as good as you can with fresh water after using them.
